Mortgage Balance at Zero

Our mortgage balance is now zero.

I wrote about our relative, Lily, who died recently. She's left an inheritance and some of that has gone to pay off the mortgage.

I'd much rather have Lily back though. I miss her terribly.

    Would it feel trite to plant some lilies in her memory at this home she has helped you with? Lily bulbs are in the stores now.

    I'm so sorry for your loss. Take heart--I'm sure she would be happy that she was able to help you own your home. Try to enjoy the gift a bit--that's what I would want if I left someone an inheritance.

    I too would think she would be happy to know she helped kick that mortgage to the curb. You did most of the work yourselves you know!! Congrats on decisions well made. Smile

    Thanks everyone. I still miss her, and it's shaping up to be the year of death around here, unfortunately.

    Joan, Lily (and her deceased husband) loved dahlias and gave Daisy some dahlia bulbs for Christmas. We will plant them soon. I don't think I'll be able to look at dahlias again without thinking of them.
