Goals 2009
Goal 1: Build Emergency Fund to 8625.00 by July 1, 2009.Current total: 8700.00
Goal completed January 5, 2009 - six months ahead of schedule.
Goal 2: Budget for Checkbook One:
January: 65.58 total surplus, from the gas and everything else categories.
February: 248.72 total surplus, from the grocery, gas and everything else categories.
Goal 3: Keep food, personal care and cleaning supply costs to $650, looking for ways to reduce this number.
January: Spent 651.95, so over budget by 1.95. I decided to "hold back" $20 of this budget until the last few days of the month. It seems like something pops up - potluck, meal for another family, etc.
February: Spent 605.91. This month I tried allocating some of the money ahead for different things - a weekly total for bread, fruits and vegetables, a bi-weekly total for milk, eggs and cheese, and a little bit for month end. This worked pretty well, but I didn't buy enough staples.
Goal 5: Add another 8625.00 to the EF by end of 2009.
Current total: 8700 plus 9500 = 18,200
Goal completed February 28, 2009 - 10 months ahead of schedule, due to windfall.
